Elizabeth Pole
Erasmus's sec. wife
Elizabeth Colyear was born about 1747, illegitimate daughter of Sir Charles Colyear, Earl of Portland, and Elizabeth Collier. On 10 April 1769 at Radbourne she married Colonel Edward Sachaverell Pole. They had at least four children together. At sometime during the marriage she met Erasmus Darwin who became obsessed with her.
