Lucy Laszlo's son
Son of Philip de László, was an Anglo-Hungarian painter known particularly for his portraits of royal and aristocratic personages and Lucy Madeleine de László de Lombos, who was an Anglo-Irish socialite, amateur musician, diarist. On the 30th December 1938, he suffered a fatal car accident, skidding on ice into the path of a lorry at the corner on the London to Newmarket road at Six Mile Bottom, Cambridgeshire. His wife died immediately, and he eight days later, aged only thirty-five on 7th January 1939 in Addenbrook’s Hospital, Cambridge. They are both buried in Tilford Churchyard in Surrey, beside the graves of his parents and other family members.
